News

What a wonderful time we had at the SENM Buddy Walk®! To all who joined us THANK YOU!! We had a great time. The weather was a little chilly but once the activities started it seemed to warm up.  The atmosphere was happy and exciting and warming to the heart.  To all those who helped THANKS a million we couldn’t have done it without you!!  Kudos to all the planners, sponsors, participants, teams and everyone involved.  We appreciate you!!

“Together We’re Better”

The 9th Annual SENM Buddy Walk® was the biggest and best yet. After all the walkers were totaled and the money counted it is wonderful to report that we had 696 registered walkers and close to 800 at the event. We had 24 teams supporting self advocates both by walking with them and raising money on their behalf. Our corporate sponsor donations totaled $29,250. Roswell Toyota surprised us with an additional $5000 bringing their sponsorship to $10,000 which is the largest sponsorship the SENM Buddy Walk® has ever had.  Once again you helped prove that “Together We’re Better “because each donation was vital to us reaching this amazing total.  Not only did we exceed our fundraising goals but we saw more walkers than ever participate. This is at the heart of why we walk. We always want to raise awareness about Down syndrome and promote the importance of every individual in our community.

 Congratulations

The dinner the night before was lots of fun too. The food was great thank you to Martin’s Capitol Café, the decorations were beautiful thanks to the Assissteens, and the entertainment could not have been better thank you to all who participated. There is so much talent out there, but we can’t forget our special guests Miss Rachel Mast and her mother Jawanda Mast for their encouraging words.

Once again thanks to everyone who helped we can’t wait till next year!
